What you're potentially inviting is a nanny state where you give up control to a governing body in order for it to police your life and others. Personally I can't think of anything worse... Sure it seems like a quick fix to prevent under aged gamers from playing violent games, but where does that policy end in every other walk of life?
The people responsible for children playing games they shouldn't are the parents. It's their job to parent, passing the buck...
Essentially they blame other mediums than themselves... Which I guess makes business sense, even if it is dickish :)
Games are the reason for child violence. Marilyn Manson is the devil, Led Zepplin are his apostles.
It doesn't matter what the current fad is, it'll always get blamed by those who don't like or understand it. It then gets promoted by the TV and news media as a real possibility because they themselves are personally losing revenue to said different trends and fads. Games are their competition, and it makes them sweat.

I don't have any social media things like Facebook... so I guess I can just press "play game" and enjoy myself :)
All Kinect 1.0 did for me was annoy me online when playing with people using it as a mic, you'd hear there dogs barking, mums calling, crisps being eaten, beers being open, moronic laughter.
I think I will miss this one :)
It's possibly a good thing though, especially if the extra revenue goes into improvements and updates.

I think what people are complaining about is the fact that by making it free to play a great deal of people will be playing it with either only Jago (free character) unlocked and possibly pay for the usual "proven to be overpowered" character. Which means most of your online battles against strangers will involve playing against the same character again and again, even more so than how it is with games with fully unlocked character rosters.
Or my old arsed surround sound :(
I'm coming to PS4 after a 10 year Xbox live subscription. I can deal with whatever ;) I am sure it will seem good value to me.

I am enjoying it too. The online is great fun, but like you say... with 12 racers on the grid its always the same twonk who wipes out half the racers on the first bend. I start nearer the back of the pack now, so just let it unfold and then drive through ;)
I think he is basically asking for a bit more creativity in gaming. There has been too many gritty real life shooters over space, rainbows and yeti battles... and I agree.
I hope the touchpad controls my pip boy in Fallout 4 :P
The sooner the better! (And the sooner I can sit still again)

Exactly what a rapist would want us to think ;)
It'd be nice if they gave it a bit more thought then, consoles have a large playerbase and I've noticed the PS3 crowd in general aren't exactly super fans of Bethesda at the moment. Who knows, maybe PS4's touch pad will assist in future ;)
It worked fine on PC I thought. Probably not so much on a controller.
